Refund Policy

This Refund Policy explains how cancellations and refunds work on AstarIQ, the online tutoring platform operated by Technology Foundry in Egypt. It applies to all paid bookings, including one-to-one sessions, courses, and revision sessions.

All prices on the Platform are shown and charged in Egyptian Pounds (EGP). We aim to be fair to both students and teachers, and to process eligible refunds promptly.

1. Cancellations and refunds

The following rules apply to paid bookings:

  • If a teacher fails to attend, cancels, or a technical fault on our side prevents the session, the student receives a full refund or a free reschedule.
  • If a student cancels at least 24 hours before the session start time, the student receives a full refund.
  • If a student cancels less than 24 hours before the session start time, the booking is not refundable, because the teacher reserved that time.
  • If a session took place but the student was not satisfied, any refund is at AstarIQ's reasonable discretion and decided case by case.

2. Requesting a refund

Refund requests must be made within 7 days of the scheduled session. After that, charges are treated as final. To request a refund, contact us at Hello@thefoundry.run with your booking details, or call +20 1125500511.

3. How refunds are paid

Approved refunds are returned in Egyptian Pounds (EGP) to the original payment method used for the booking. Refunds are processed through our payment provider and may take a number of business days to appear, depending on your bank or card issuer.

4. Repeated cancellations

Teachers who repeatedly cancel or fail to attend may be suspended or removed from the Platform. We may also review accounts that show a pattern of abusive refund requests.
